BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — It was anything but a silent night for one local family who received a very early Christmas present, a baby girl.
“It was very shocking. I can’t believe it because it's very unplanned," said mom Alexis Santiesteban.
Jhenesis Cherry was born at Mercy Southwest Hospital at 12:22a.m. Christmas Day. Her expected due date was January 6, 2020 but she decided to come a little early this holiday season.
Both parents said she is a healthy baby girl who weighs 6 pounds and 14 ounces. According to the father James Cherry, they are very excited to have a baby girl.
Jhenesis stayed cozy and warm bundled up in a bright red stocking, while rocking in her mothers arms on her first Christmas.
"Now that she’s out and she’s healthy I have nothing to worry about. It’s the best Christmas gift for us all," said Santiesteban.
