Man accused of violently beating girlfriend arrested

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield police officers have arrested a man wanted in connection with a car jacking and spousal abuse case.

On Wednesday at about 4:20 a.m., Bakersfield police officers went to a home in the 3200 block of Fortier Street in East Bakersfield regarding a woman who was badly injured.

The woman was taken to an area hospital and was last listed in critical condition.

Investigators claimed that her boyfriend, 23-year-old Ezquiel Anguiano, violently assaulted her and was last seen driving a 2002 Maroon Ford Taurus with Utah License plates.

At about 6:15 p.m. Thursday, officers of the Bakersfield Police Department located Anguiano and placed him into custody without incident.

Anquiano was booked into the Kern County Jail on charges of carjacking, spousal abuse, assault great bodily injury, and battery.
