Man dead in East Bakersfield after his brother allegedly stabbed him multiple times

A 30-year-old man was left dead after being stabbed near Niles and Gage Streets early Wednesday. According to Bakersfield Police, officer's arrived and transported Richie Vincent Valenzuela, 30 to Kern Medical after he was stabbed multiple times just before 12:30 a.m.

After being transported, the victim subsequently succumbed to his injuries and died.

Police said that detectives developed information about the victim being involved in an altercation with his brother, Ralph Valenzuela Jr., 32. According to police, during the altercation the victim was stabbed multiple times.

Just after 5 p.m., officers were able to locate the suspect near 8500 Kern Canyon Road in East Bakersfield. Police said that after the suspect was taken into custody, he was interviewed by detectives and subsequently arrested for murder and booked into the Kern County Jail.
