BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The man found dead in a south Bakersfield apartment complex last month has been identified by the Kern County Coroner's Office.
Police found Bakersfield resident Marcos Abraham Vargas dead outside an apartment at the Golden Valley Luxury Apartments on Nov. 29 around 3 a.m.
Vargas, 26, had sustained major injuries, police said.
A postmortem examination was completed and his cause and manner of death are pending further investigation, the Coroner's Office said.
