BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — A 43-year-old man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle while he was riding a bike in Lamont Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP said around 12:40 a.m. Sunday, a man was riding a bike along Di Giorgio Road, east of Myrtle Avenue, when he was struck from behind by a Volkswagen Passat heading westbound on Di Giorgio Rd. The bicyclist died at the scene.
CHP did not say what caused the vehicle to strike the bicyclist.
The investigation is ongoing.
