A man shot and killed in East Bakersfield on November 11 has been identified as 19-year-old Exavier Danzel Tappin.

The shooting occurred near Bernard Street, just south of Highway 178. Tappin was taken to Kern Medical where he later died. The suspect ran from the scene.

There are few witnesses, according to deputies.

The shooting happened within 50 yards of a shooting that happened Thursday night. It is unknown if the two incidents are related.

An investigation into this incident is ongoing to determine cause and manner of death.
