MCFARLAND, Calif. — The contract for missing McFarland City Manager John Wooner has been terminated, city officials confirm.

McFarland Mayor Manuel Cantu told 23ABC News that Wooner is no longer employed by the city and is no longer on paid administrative leave. Cantu said the contract was terminated before Friday.

Wooner was last seen on May 14, more than eight weeks ago. He had been on paid administrative leave since May 23.

In June, David Tooley was appointed interim city manager in Wooner's absence.

On July 2, Bakersfield police announced a $5,000 Secret Witness reward for any information that leads investigators to finding Wooner.

Police say Wooner, 57, was last seen at Hillcrest Cemetery, driving a white City of McFarland Dodge Durango.

Investigators have not said whether foul play is suspected, but they are calling his disappearance suspicious.

If you have any information on Wooner's whereabouts, contact the Secret Witness line by calling: 322-4040.
