MCFARLAND, Calif. — The City of McFarland held a special meeting to decide the best way to interview applicants for the Interim City Manager position.
During the meeting, council members discussed beginning interviews for applicants in the hopes of coming to a decision in time for the regular meeting on Thursday.
Applicants will be interviewed during the closed session meeting.
The position became vacant after Interim City Manager Larry Pennell submitted his letter of resignation a couple weeks ago. He said health issues prevented him from continuing his duties as the administrator of city business.
Pennell was brought on after the resignation of David Tooley last year. Tooley was named Interim City Manager after the disappearance and death of former McFarland City Manager John Wooner last year.
