BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department has arrested John Glenn Hardison Jr. in connection to a deadly shooting at the La Mirage Motel in South Bakersfield Friday night.

According to BPD, Hardison Jr. is suspected of shooting another man that the motel around 10:44 p.m. Friday. BPD said officers were notified of the shooting after a ShotSpotter alert.

When officers arrived they found the victim suffering from major injuries. He was declared dead at the scene.

Hardison was arrested around 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Vagabond Inn, located a 6100 Knudsen Drive. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Kern County Jail for his outstanding arrest warrant.
