BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — One person is dead after a vehicle versus pedestrian collision in East Bakersfield. The crash took place near the intersection of Niles and Virginia streets just before 9 p.m. Thursday night.
The California Highway Patrol says the man was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk and was hit by the vehicle. He died at the scene.
The driver is cooperating with the investigation. Drugs and alcohol are not considered factors in the collision.
