Man who fell, died at Amazon fulfillment center construction site identified

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — UPDATE (10:29 a.m.): The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified the man who fell and died at the Amazon fulfillment center construction site.

The coroner's office says 42-year-old Brien James Daunt, of Rancho Cucamonga, died at the scene Saturday afternoon.

One person is dead after a fall at the Amazon fulfillment center construction site in Oildale.

According to the Kern County Fire Department, firefighters were called out to the Amazon fulfillment center for a fall this afternoon. The person died at the scene.

KCFD says they handled the initial investigation. The California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA) is on their way to the site to investigate the fall.

The 2 million square foot Amazon fulfillment center is located next to Meadows Field Airport in Oildale.
