Peak Fire containment grows to 81 percent

KERN COUTNY, Calif. — It's been nearly a week since the Peak Fire burning in Eastern Kern County started, as containment continues to grow.

The fire is now at 81 percent containment, according to the Bureau of Land Management. Acres burned remains at 2,098.

The potential for changing weather is causing concern for crews, with possible thunderstorms and wind.
