Sunday night shortly after 7:00 p.m. officials said they responded to a fatal traffic collision on Highway 43 just north of Jackson Avenue in Wasco.
The pedestrian was struck by a car after reportedly being in the roadway. Officials say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene and has not been identified.
"Highway 43 between Jackson Avenue and Filburn Avenue will be closed for an extended period of time," officials say.
The incident is currently under investigation.
