Pedestrian struck by train in East Bakersfield Wednesday night

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries Wednesday night after being struck by a train in East Bakersfield, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

According to KCSO, deputies responded to the tracks off Edison Highway and Webster Street around 9:18 p.m. When they arrived, the pedestrian told them he was walking along the tracks when he was struck by a part of the train.

Deputies determined the injuries to be non-life threatening but he was taken to a local hospital at his request.

KCSO said they completed their report and gave it to the Railroad Police. KSCO said Railroad Police declined to investigate further.
