BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — If you're one of the many who adopted a new furry friend during the pandemic, you might not have had the opportunity to get your pet microchipped. Well this week a local rescue group is looking to help.

Pet Matchmaker Rescue announced it is holding a free microchipping event.

On Wednesday, the event will run from noon to 8 p.m. and then 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The event is taking place in the Freddy's parking lot on Calloway Drive in Northwest Bakersfield.
