BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — PG&E has announced that a scheduled Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) drill will take place in Tejon and Poso Mountain on Tuesday.

According to the company the drill will feature helicopters in the area but will not interrupt residents power.

PG&E says the event is to help officials practice responding to a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS).

"Given the continued and growing threat of extreme weather and wildfires, and as an additional precautionary measure following the 2017 and 2018 wildfires, we are expanding and enhancing our Community Wildfire Safety Program to further reduce wildfire risks and help keep our customers and the communities we serve safe," PG&E explained in a news release.
