BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A section of Pacheco Road and Union Avenue will be closed periodically over the next several months as Pacific Gas and Electric Company relocates overhead transmission and distribution electric lines in the area.

The segment to be relocated begins on the southeast corner of the intersection of Pacheco Road and Union Avenue and continues south along the east side of Union Avenue for approximately 1,850 feet.

To relocate the lines, PG&E will remove seven existing wood poles and install nine slightly taller wood poles to allow for proper standards to be met for the newly relocated poles.

Customers will be notified of electric service interruptions during the project that is beginning Tuesday.

Lane closures and traffic controls will be used periodically. Work is scheduled to be complete by early October.
