Police found several explosives in the home of Shane Weber, the man who threatened to detonate suicide vest in Cal City in January, according to search warrants obtained by 23ABC. Weber also allegedly told officers that he had explosives on him.
Weber was arrested, according to a press release from Cal City Police. Investigators seized firework mortar, homemade explosive devices, two bags of unknown substances, seven shell casings, ammunition, and assault rifle parts—all found in various parts of the home, including the bedroom and living room.
According to Weber's adoptive mother, who called police on Jan. 23, Weber was homeless and living in a tent in Pine Mountain Club for several years before she brought him to Cal City.
Officers got in touch with Weber via text message to perform a welfare check. According to police, Weber told officers ,"Dude I got high explosives on me." He added in another message, "Did you read this with bbs so you hit the explosives there goes the bbs 2."
