Posted

The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community's assistance in identifying and locating a suspect wanted for theft and robbery.

On June 4, 2017 at 5:05 a.m., the suspect entered the Circle K business located at 5600 Auburn Street, selected several cases of beer, and fled the store without paying for the items.

Approximately five minutes later the suspect returned to the business, approached the clerk, and asked for cigarettes. As the clerk was holding the cigarettes, the suspect forcefully removed the item from the clerk's hand and attempted to run from the business.

The clerk confronted the suspect and a brief struggle ensued; however, neither the suspect nor victim sustained any injuries.

The suspect was able to flee with the loss, and is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20's with a short goatee and wearing a white tank top, white black shorts, white socks and black shoes.

The suspect was seen entering a newer model 4-door sedan, silver in color.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call Detective Rudy Berumen (661) 326-3538, or the Bakersfield Police Department (661) 327-7111.
