A police report released on Wednesday gives new details on a murder in an east Bakersfield hotel room.
Eldrick Richmond is accused of killing a woman and leaving her body at the Town and Country Motel on Grove Street near Union Avenue around 11 a.m. Saturday.
Richmond admitted to striking and strangling the victim until she died, according to the police report.
He is being held on a first-degree murder charge.
Police found the woman's body after they were called about a disturbance.
The woman's name has not yet been released.
