Kern County Public Health said Ruben's Mexican Food in East Bakersfield has been closed after inspectors found rodent droppings and vermin inside the restaurant.
According to Public Health, inspectors found rodent droppings in the storage area, the bar area, and the dishwashing area. Inspectors reported the operator and employees of the restaurant failed to recognize the risk of the infestation and continued operating under an active vermin infestation.
The restaurant, located at 3807 Auburn Street, was closed after receiving a 69% grade by Public Health.
