As a high-pressure system continues to work it’s way through the region, so does the triple digit heat! This is now the third heat wave of the season for Central California.

A heat advisory is in effect for the San Joaquin Valley until 8 pm on Monday. During this time there is also an excessive heat watch for the desert communities.

All of this hot and dry weather is going to bring unhealthy air quality to the region for the sensitive groups on Monday, with an AQI of 126. Also Monday, we will be seeing near record-breaking heat. The record is set at 110 degrees in 1961. This Monday we will see high temperatures reach 105 degrees.

Temperatures will drop slightly by Tuesday, but we will remain in the triple digit heat.
