BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A semi truck carrying around 80,000 almond hulls tipped over along southbound Interstate 5 Friday afternoon, spilling shells along the side of the road.
The California Highway Patrol tweeted out Friday saying, "This crash is NUTS! We are currently working a traffic collision on southbound I-5 north of SR-223."
The CHP traffic Incident website reported the rollover happened just after 1:35 p.m. along southbound lanes of I-5 at Buena Vista Canal Road. No inuries were reported.
The road is open but CHP is asking drivers to slow down in the area while they work to clean up the nuts and remove the semi.
