Fans of Sequoia Sandwich Company have a new location to get their fix after an expansion opened in downtown Bakersfield on Monday.
The expansion, called Qwik Cafe, opened next to the popular eatery on 18th Street in downtown.
The new location is focused on fast service for customers on the go. The cafe will also serve new and healthier options, some of which aren't available at other Sequoia locations.
"So we're trying to make it exclusive," said Jeff Simpson, one of the owners of the company. "Some people will say 'hey, do you have this next door?' And I'll be glad to tell them no, it's only here. So it's to entice them to come here strictly."
Sequoia Sandwich Company has been locally owned and operated since 1999.
