BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — You can see organizers have started to make progress out at Buena Vista Lake, where the Lightning in a Bottle festival will be held next month.

The week-long festival which will be held from Wednesday, May 8 through Monday May 13 could bring more than 20 thousand people to Kern County.

Earlier this year, organizers for Lightning in a Bottle announced Kern County as the location for their festival.. despite not having formal approval from the Kern County Board of Supervisors.

The board did eventually approve the festival.

The Kern County Law Enforcement Association raised concerns about staffing such a large event and ensuring overall public safety.

Sheriff Donny Youngblood addressed those issues in studio.
