BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A sign for the new Bakersfield Police Department's Academy and Advanced Training Center has popped up in Southwest Bakersfield.

The future location looks like it will be at California Avenue and Easton Road, where the Casa Tequila used to be at.

Back in February, city council documents said officials were exploring whether the building would meet the need for a training academy for BPD.

BPD has not disclosed an exact date on the opening of the facility.
