BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Sonder restaurant in Northwest Bakersfield announced it will be reopening Wednesday following a two-month closure.
Restaurant owners made the announcement via the marquee of the Historic Bakersfield Fox Theater. The marquee read, "Sonder restaurant reopens Sept. 9th. We've missed you Bako!"
The restaurant said it will reopen for patio dining, take-out, as well as delivery and cocktails to-go.
Back at the start of July, the restaurant announced its closure given Gov. Newsom's closure of indoor dining for restaurants. Sonder posted saying it would close until the end of the month as staff and owners worked to assess their options.
On social media, restaurant officials said that assessing the situation was harder than expected.
"Unfortunately, it wasn’t that easy for our team. There was a significant amount on the table to decide for the future of our restaurant," the restaurant posted on Facebook.
Now the restaurant is preparing to serve customers once again! To make a reservation or place a to-go order, call (661) 247-0000. Sonder is located at 9500 Brimhall Road.
