Suspected wanted in connection to car burglaries, thefts arrested

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A suspect wanted for using multiple credit cards linked to burglaries and thefts from unlocked vehicles in East Bakersfield has been arrested. The suspect was identified as 25-year-old Kyler Jimenez.

Officials said the burglaries happened between September 20 to 21 in the late evening or early morning hours. Police said the suspect(s) burglarized multiple apartments at 2501 Bernard Street, while the victims were sleeping.

In a surveillance photo, Jimenez can be seen entering a convenience store where he reportedly attempted to use credit cards taken during the burglaries.

According to a statement from the Bakersfield Police Department, on Thursday a search warrant was executed at his residence and items that were stolen during the burglaries were discovered. Jimenez was arrested and charged with using a stolen debit card.

The investigation into the burglaries is ongoing.

The Bakersfield Police Department thanked community members who assisted in identifying Jiminez during the investigation.
