BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — To celebrate a recent store remodeling, the Target store at the Valley Plaza Mall hosted a hiring event Sunday.

“W are looking to hire regular team members, we haven't quite started our seasonal hiring yet," said Melissa Conradi, the human resources manager at the Target located at the Valley Plaza Mall.

She says the store is looking to hire 20 to 30 people for year-round work. She says there is a wide range of jobs available.

“(We're) looking for positions all over the sales floor, general merchandise, fulfillment, grocery, our Starbucks and our style areas as well," Conradi said.

The jobs start at $13 per hour according to Conradi. They positions are part-time with the ability to work up to 40 hours per week.

According to a post on the Job Fest kern County Facebook page, employees receive a 10 percent discount at Target, as well as 20 percent discounts on fruits, vegetables and other Target brands. Even if you couldn’t make it out to the mall on Sunday, Conradi says you can still apply to work at the store on the Target website.
