BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A gas leak at the intersection of Calloway Drive and Brimhall Avenue has been stopped, but officials are asking drivers to continue to avoid the areas while workers repair the damage.
According to officials with SoCalGas, the leak was caused by the third party hitting the line. Crews were able to stop the leak but there is still work to be done.
The leak began earlier Thursday afternoon and caused several nearby roads to close.
According to the City of Bakersfield and the Bakersfield Police Department, Calloway Dr. was closed between Slikker Drive and Marby Grange Way. Brimhall Rd. was closed between Piper Glenn Drive and Harvest Creek Road.
