BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Caltrans officials tweeted that they have reopened Southbound 99 at the I-5 junction following Wednesday morning's closure.

As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, the California Highway Patrol also announced that it was escorting traffic on the Grapevine but would continue monitoring all lanes.

CHP officials also reminded drivers to slow down and be safe as more snowfall is expected to hit the mountain areas Wednesday night.
