On May 31, 2017 at 12:15 p.m., officers from the Kern County Auto Theft Task Force located a stolen vehicle near 34th Street and Q Street, which was occupied by two subjects.
When officers attempted to contact the occupants of the vehicle, the driver Jorge Grajedo, 28 of Bakersfield, ran from the vehicle on foot and was taken into custody a short time later.
During a search of his clothing officers located a loaded .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol.
The passenger of the vehicle, David Rodriguez, 18, complied with the officers commands and was taken into custody without incident.
During a search of Rodriguez’s clothing officers located a homemade knife. Rodriguez was ultimately arrested for unlawful possession of a knife, as well as possession of stolen property.
Grajedo was arrested and booked for being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm, auto theft and resisting arrest.
