The Kern County Coroner identified the passenger killed in a crash south of Bakersfield Tuesday night. According to California Highway Patrol, 58-year-old Jarnail Singh was not wearing seat belt when the crash happened.
CHP responded Tuesday around 8:30 p.m. to a crash at the intersection of Curnow Road and Union Avenue.
According to CHP, a car carrying Singh, along with two others, was stopped at the intersection when the driver of the car entered without noticing a pickup truck approaching.
The pickup collided with the back of the car.
CHP said Signh was not wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second passenger in the car suffered major injuries. The driver had minor injuries.
The driver and passenger of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries.
