BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — The unemployment rate in Kern County was 11.3% in December 2020, up from a revised 9.4% in November 2020, according to the state Employment Development Department.

This compares to the unadjusted unemployment rate of 8.8% for the state and 6.5% for the nation during the same period. Kern's unemployment estimate a year ago was 7.1%.
