UPDATE: Wasco City Manager J. Paul Paris says the animals in the Wasco Animal Shelter were never in immediate danger, and that the Facebook page is run by volunteers.

Paris said that although the need for the dogs to get adopted is a big deal, the Facebook post was a slight overreaction.

In the wake of the post, Marley's Mutts rescued 5 dogs. Other people came to the shelter to look for potential adoptions as well, some of them leaving with new pets.

The Facebook page's name has since changed from "Wasco Animal Shelter" to "Wasco Animal Shelter Volunteer Crusaders".

If you'd like to adopt dogs from Wasco that Marley's Mutts is began fostering today, keep an eye out for them here.

UPDATE: Zach Skow with Marley's Mutts says he and other foster parents will go to Wasco today to help save as many dogs as possible.

He said they are still looking for other foster families to help save the animals.

The lives of dozens of dogs at the Wasco Animal Shelter are in danger.

Since Sunday, the shelter has posted multiple times on Facebook that all animals are in danger of being put to sleep without further notice.

The shelter posted saying, "There will be No Further Posts or Pleas or Begging for Help for these precious pupsters, nor will we be posting their info again. They are Truly *Out of Time*."
