A sign is up and work has begun on a new Amazon facility in Oildale, near Meadows Field Airport.

The facility is expected to bring more than 1,000 jobs to Kern County, according to the county. The fulfillment facility will take up approximately 2 million square feet, and the county says that permits are done and construction has begun.
