BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — Wreaths Across America officially has a national day of recognition. The Senate passing Bill 7-86 recognizes December 19th as Wreaths Across America Day.

More than 6,000 veterans are buried at the Bakersfield National Cemetery and so far more than 2,000 wreaths have been sponsored but they need at least 2,800 more. There won't be an in-person ceremony this year but the group will host a virtual ceremony on its Facebook page. That's happening on December 19th at 9 a.m.
