You can officially buy legal fireworks throughout Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Residents can officially start buying fireworks throughout Bakersfield.

While the 4th of July is still days away, Kern County Fire said fireworks sales can officially start at noon Wednesday

Starting Thursday residents can begin lighting fireworks.

Residents can light fireworks until July 5 at 12:30 a.m.

Those who don't follow regulations could be fined $1,500 for a first violation and up to $25,000 after their third violation.
