The Kern High School District is inviting the public to attend a community meeting Thursday, January 10, 2019 to discuss the next comprehensive high school opening in the fall of 2022 in Southeast Bakersfield. The meeting will be held at the Golden Valley High School Library, 801 Hosking Avenue, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The interactive meeting is designed to introduce the project, and listen, and learn what the community would like to see in the new school. The school is being built at the northeast corner of Panama Lane and Cottonwood Road. It is the first comprehensive high school to be built by the KHSD since Mira Monte and Independence high schools opened in 2008.
The development and construction of the new school has been made possible in part through Measure K, a general obligation bond passed by Kern County voters in 2016.
