CALIFORNIA — The Creek Fire forced a massive rescue operation in the area of Mammoth Pool Reservoir, trapping hundreds of people and leaving many severely injured.

Fire and law enforcement agencies from Fresno and Madera counties, as well as members of the National Guard, conducted the operation.

163 people have been rescued. Twenty of them were taken to a hospital and some had critical burn injuries.

The entire community of Shaver Lake is now under an evacuation order due to the fire, according to the Fresno County Sheriff's Office.
