SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Tuesday, Gov. Gavin Newsom will speak in regards to COVID-19 and wildfires across the state.

California's COVID-19 case count topped 900,000 Monday, but the rate of spread has slowed in the state. The positivity rate for the past two weeks of testing is 2.8% on average.

Newsom is also expected to address the Silverado Fire burning in Orange County, which has already injured two firefighters. Officials believe the fire may have been caused by a faulty power line.

The Silverado Fire in Orange County is burning at 11,199 acres and 5% contained.
