Manhunt underway for suspect in killing of missing Tulare mother

PLAINVIEW, Calif. — A manhunt in underway for the suspect in the killing of a missing Tulare mother.

The Tulare County Sheriff's Office announced 36-year-old Brittney Steenbergen was found dead in a rural area of Imperial County on Sunday.

Officials said Steenbergen's estranged boyfriend and father of her four children Adel Hussein has been identified as a suspect in her death.

Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Detectives, Imperial County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit as well as other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in the region are searching for Hussein.

Hussein was last seen in the Tipton area around 6:00 p.m on Tuesday, December 31st and is described as 5-feet, 4-inches tall, 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. e was last seen wearing a grey hat with a “B” on it, a black jacket, blue jeans, and black shoes. He is known to drive a Dark blue 2007 Toyota RAV4 with license plate 5XNS883.
