PG&E is reporting the around 3,192 customers are without power in Northwest Bakersfield. Bakersfield Police say the outage could have been caused by a car that crashed into a power line off of Calloway Drive and Rosedale Avenue Sunday morning.

According to PG&E, the outage began just before 1:30 a.m. and they have crews en route to assess the cause. They estimate power to be restored around 5 a.m. Sunday.

Around the same time, BPD reported a traffic accident in the area involving a power line. BPD said it is possible the two incidents are related. No one was injured during the accident.

California Highway Patrol is also reporting defective traffic signals on Olive Drive and State Road. It is unknown at this time whether this is also related to the accident.
