BAKERSFIELD, CA. — 18-year-old Ethan Garza is the only survivor of a car crash that killed his father and three siblings back in March 2018.

Now, Ethan is set to graduate from Golden Valley High School on Thursday.

Ethan was left with multiple injuries following the crash, making this moment an even bigger milestone.

His mother Amber Morales acting as his support system through it all.

"She was supportive to light the fire under me," said Ethan Garza.

Amber remaining strong despite dealing with her own trauma. She lost two of her five children in the crash, 14-year-old Madysyn Garza and 19-year-old Kaleb Garza.

"It does bring back a lot of sadness because Kaleb was just there a few years ago walking across that stage, he ran track on that field. To see Ethan there is happy and sad all at the same time," said Amber.

But Amber has used that pain to push her son. Now, Ethan says he is walking across the graduation stage in memory of his father and siblings.

"I had to realize that they wanted me to graduate, they would be happy if I did," said Ethan.

"That is my baby, my baby did it. He is going to walk, walk in every sense of the word the stgae and that is just super exciting," said Amber.
