BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield Fire crews responded to a small structure fire at an abandoned building in East Bakersfield Sunday night. Crews on scene believe the fire may have been caused by a downed power wire.
The fire started just after 11 p.m. Sunday night near an abandoned home on 430 Jefferson Street near Bernard Street. Crews said no one was injured during the fire and they were able to knock it down in just over an hour.
PG&E crews were called to assist with the downed live wire.
California Highway Patrol was also called to assist with traffic control in the area but normal traffic flow has since resumed.
