How does this storm affect your weekend events?

Thankfully we're clearing and dry this afternoon!

As excited as we are to see the storm arriving in Kern County, the big question popping up for most people is, how will this affect my weekend plans?!

Thankfully the storm looks to be very active over Bakersfield this morning, but will be quickly wrapping up by mid-morning. Showers and thunderstorm potential lingers in the mountain and desert communities through this afternoon, but everyone looks to be drying out by sunset.

That's good news for Friday Night Football! Stephen Hicks and the 23ABC team will be out in full force covering the games, which reportedly will go on rain or dry. Games will only be canceled if there's lightning.

We're cool and clearing tomorrow, with only a 20% chance of rain in Kern County for your Saturday.

There's another system arriving on Sunday, but that one isn't nearly as powerful as today's storm, so don't cancel your plans. For now I'm just calling for a 40% chance of scattered showers.

The best news of all, we're clear and dry Monday night in time for trick-or-treating!
