The Kern County Sheriff Coroner has identified the second parent killed in a double homicide over the weekend.
48 year-old Kim Higginbotham was found deceased in her home on Lily Pad Ct. in Northwest Bakersfield.

Bakersfield Police confirm the couple found in the home were married and that a suspect is in custody.
Derek Connell, the biological son of Kim and stepson of Christopher Higgenbotham has been arrested for two counts of homicide. He's scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
A postmortem examination will be scheduled to determine the cause and manner of death.
