(KERO) — A military father is back from deployment and he was able to surprise all three of his kids. ABC's Tom Llamas has a look at the family reunion.

When airman Kevin Warren headed off for his fifth deployment last September to Southwest Asia, the strain of having him gone hit his Oklahoma City family so hard. There were missed holidays, birthdays, and an anniversary. His wife, Katherine, wanted to make this homecoming memorable.

"It's so hard not having that significant other with you, and it seems like everything falls apart when he's gone," said Katherine. "I knew I wanted to do something like this with the kids. Just to surprise them."

So on Friday, surprise number one: daughter Kimberlyn, in her middle school band class inside of her school's gym. Kimberlyn recognized her father and sprinted into his arms. Then tears of joy.

Today Kevin with his three children and his wife enjoyed a Sunday together.
