BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Omni Family Health put out the call for personal protective equipment donations to support the health and safety of its workers, and the community responded.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to shortages of medical supplies and PPE used to protect frontline healthcare workers and the patients they treat.

Our cameras were there as the Adventist Health Bakersfield Foundation helped organize a thank-you mask drive to collect hundreds of masks, totaling 500 masks donated.

The work of the Foundation has donated a 10,000 masks with the help of over 800 people in the community making them, delivering these masks to more than 40 organizations in the community.

Completed masks were picked up and have been professionally cleaned, all for Omni Family Health.

Today Cleaners donated their services to clean the thank-you masks.

If you're interested in helping out, you can make a difference by donating at donations@omnifamilyhealth.org.

Before coming to a health center, Omni encourages patients to call 800-300-OMNI (6664) to be evaluated for an in-person visit or a telehealth appointment.

A telehealth appointment is a safe and convenient way to ask a medical question, have a prescription re-filled, or speak to a mental health provider about concerns one may be experiencing during this unprecedented time.

Currently, patients can schedule telehealth appointments with providers during daytime, evening and weekend hours.
