FRESNO, Calif. — A Kings County judge denied a request from convicted killer Jaime Osuna to possess crime scene photos from his latest charge.
Osuna is facing charges of killing his cellmate in Corcoran State Prison. The Kings County District Attorney's Office said in March 2019, Osuna decapitated his cellmate, Luis Romero, and then proceeded to sever several of Romero's body parts.
Earlier this month, the DA's office said that Osuna had filed a motion requesting that he be allowed to possess the crime scene photographs of the incident while in custody. On Monday, a judge sided with Kings County prosecutors, denying the request.
Osuna was serving a life sentence for the torture and murder of Yvette Pena in 2011 when prosecutors said he killed his cellmate.
In December, Osuna and prosecutors are scheduled to return to court for a competency hearing.
